Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

AL- AQSA HOSPITAL & DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE

Jodrn Road, Barishal, P.O Box. No-8200

Background

Hafsa Afrin is a polite and well-behaved 9-year-old girl who studies in Class 4 and lives with her father Md. Arifur Rahman, mother Tanjila Akter, her younger sister Mahera Akter, and her grandmother Fatima Begum. Her father works as a daily laborer and earns about 6,000 BDT per month, which is not enough to support the five-member family and pay for hospital treatment. For the past two months, Hafsa has been suffering from repeated throat infections with severe pain, difficulty swallowing, and fever, and her condition recently worsened due to enlarged tonsils and adenoids. If she does not receive proper treatment in time, the infection may worsen and could lead to serious breathing and swallowing difficulties. The family learned about Helpster Charity through community outreach by Helpster volunteers Anowar Hossain Anu and Meghlal Roy and is now hoping for support so Hafsa can recover and continue her education.

Medical history

Hafsa Afrin, a diagnosed case of adenotonsilitis, was admitted to the hospital on 02/03/2026 at 11:26 Am after suffering repeated episodes of severe sore throat, difficulty swallowing, and fever. After thorough evaluation and necessary investigations, doctors confirmed adenotonsillitis with bilateral enlarged tonsils and adenoids. Considering the recurrent nature of his illness, he successfully underwent an adenotonsillectomy on 02/03/2026 at under proper medical supervision. Following the operation, he was closely monitored, given appropriate medications, and gradually started recovering with reduced throat pain and improved swallowing. With steady improvement and no post-operative complications, Hafsa Afrin was discharged on 04/03/2026 in stable condition. His recovery marked a new beginning toward a healthier and pain-free childhood.

Outcome

Doctors have advised adenotonsillectomy under general anesthesia (GA) to remove the infected tonsils and adenoids and prevent further repeated infections. With this treatment, Hafsa is expected to recover well, breathe and swallow comfortably, and return to her normal life, including attending school regularly and maintaining good health. The surgery will also stop the cycle of repeated throat infections and improve her overall quality of life. However, if the condition is left untreated, the enlarged tonsils and adenoids may continue to block the airway, cause severe infections, and lead to serious breathing difficulties, poor nutrition, and weakness. In severe cases, untreated obstruction and repeated infections can become life-threatening, especially for children from poor families who cannot access timely medical care.
