Four-month-old Nazifa Akter Nabila is a gentle and fragile infant whose sudden severe illness has left her family in deep distress. Her father, Md. Nazrul Islam, earns around 12,500 BDT per month as a day laborer with irregular work, which is barely enough to provide food, rent, and basic needs for their family of four, while her mother, Shakera Akter, is a homemaker with no income. With no savings and an unstable financial condition, the high cost of PICU care and emergency treatment is far beyond their ability to afford. If Nazifa does not continue to receive urgent intensive care, her severe respiratory distress could lead to life-threatening complications. Learning about Helpster Charity through Al Manar Hospital volunteer Sana Ullah Vai, the family has sought support as their only hope to save their beloved daughter.

The patient Nazifa Akter Nabila, aged 4 months, was admitted to Al-Manar Specialized Hospital Ltd. on 01 February 2026 with the diagnosis of Severe Lobar Pneumonia with Impending Heart Failure. Due to her critical condition, she was immediately transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where she received oxygen therapy, IV antibiotics, and continuous monitoring. With timely treatment and intensive medical care, her breathing gradually improved and her vital signs became stable. The patient was admitted at PICU for 7 days and at ward for 5 days. After showing steady recovery, she was discharged on 13 February 2026 with medications and follow-up advice for continued care at home. Her family expressed sincere gratitude to Helpster Charity for the financial support that helped ensure uninterrupted life-saving treatment.

Doctors have explained that with continuous PICU care, advanced respiratory support, strong antibiotics, and careful monitoring of her heart and vital organs, Nazifa has a meaningful chance of recovery. If she responds well to treatment, her lung infection can gradually resolve, the strain on her heart can reduce, and she may be shifted to the general ward once her condition stabilizes. Early and aggressive management at this critical stage can help prevent permanent damage to her lungs and heart, allowing her to grow and develop normally. However, without this intensive treatment, severe pneumonia with impending heart failure could rapidly progress to respiratory failure, septic shock, or cardiac collapse. Delay or lack of proper care would place her life at extreme risk.
