Eleven-day-old Sawda Islam Ilma is a delicate newborn who has already faced serious health challenges just days after her birth. Her father, Md. Imran Hossain, earns only about 8,000 BDT per month as a fish seller, which barely covers rent and daily expenses for their family of four, while her mother, Meheron Ness, is a homemaker with no income. With no savings and a weak financial condition, the cost of NICU care and specialized treatment is far beyond their ability to manage. Without urgent treatment for neonatal jaundice and related complications, her condition could lead to severe brain damage, long-term developmental problems, or even become life-threatening. After learning about Helpster through Dr. Surya Madam, the family is now seeking support as their only hope to save their newborn daughter’s future.

The patient Sawda Islam Ilma, an 8-day-old newborn, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd. on 09 February 2026 with the diagnosis of Neonatal Jaundice with PNA (HIE Stage I), Term (37+ weeks) AGA, and Infant of Diabetic Mother (IDM). She received NICU care including continuous LED phototherapy, IV fluids, and supportive neonatal treatment. Following close monitoring and proper management, her bilirubin level decreased and her overall condition gradually improved. She was discharged on 11 February 2026 with medical advice for follow-up and home care. The patient’s parents expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity for providing essential financial support during this critical time.

Doctors have explained that with continuous LED phototherapy, proper hydration, and close monitoring of bilirubin levels, Sawda Islam Ilma has a strong chance of full recovery and can continue to grow and develop normally. Early treatment significantly reduces the risk of bilirubin crossing into the brain and causing permanent neurological damage. With careful follow-up and supportive neonatal care, her current condition can be stabilized without long-term complications. However, if treatment is delayed or discontinued, rising bilirubin levels and complications related to birth asphyxia could lead to serious brain injury, developmental delay, hearing loss, or even become life-threatening. Timely and consistent medical care is therefore crucial to protect her future health and well-being.
