Eight-month-old Mohammad is a cheerful and affectionate baby who lives with his parents and elder brother in a small rented tin-shed room. His father earns only 7,000 BDT per month, which must cover rent, food, and daily expenses for the entire family, leaving no savings for emergency medical care. After several days of cough and fever, Mohammad developed severe pneumonia and began struggling to breathe, requiring urgent hospital admission. Without timely treatment, his condition could worsen rapidly and become life-threatening, putting his young life at serious risk. The family learned about Helpster Charity from community members who had received support at Narayanganj Poly Clinic, and they are now seeking assistance to ensure their beloved son receives the care he urgently needs.

Mohammad 8 month -old child, had been battling recurrent respiratory tract infections for the past few months, but this time, his condition worsened as he developed severe pneumonia. Despite multiple courses of antibiotics from local pharmacies, his health continued to decline, leaving him lethargic and in a toxic state. In desperate need of emergency hospitalization, he received critical care at Narayanganj Polyclinic, including oxygen therapy, nebulization with sulbutamol, ipratropium bromide, budesonide, and injectable antibiotics, along with hydrocortisone due to the seriousness of his condition. Mohammad was admitted on 1/2/26, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 8/2/26. Now, after receiving the care he needed, Mohammad is doing well and has returned home, bringing joy back to his family. With tears of gratitude in their eyes, his parents said, "Thank you to Helpster Donors and Narayanganj Polyclinic; we are forever grateful for your support!"

Doctors have advised that hospitalization with antibiotics, nebulization, and supportive therapy will help control the infection, ease breathing, and prevent further complications. With timely and complete treatment, the child is expected to recover fully and continue normal growth and development without lasting lung problems. Close monitoring in the hospital also reduces the risk of the infection spreading or causing respiratory failure. However, if left untreated, severe pneumonia could rapidly worsen, leading to critical breathing distress, damage to the lungs, or even become life-threatening. Early medical care is therefore essential to protect the child’s life and ensure a healthy future.
