Mustapha A., 15

Mustapha is a 15-year-old boy who enjoys football, helping his father with repairs, and reading about science. He dreams of becoming a mechanical engineer. He presented with a 3-day history of high-grade fever, chills, weakness, headache, poor appetite, and occasional vomiting, leaving him lethargic and less active. He was diagnosed with acute malaria with moderate dehydration. He was started on prompt antimalarial treatment, fluids, nutritional support, and close monitoring under medical assistance.

After falling seriously ill with fever, diarrhea,abdominal pain and headache, Mustapha struggled to keep up with school and daily life. His family, worried and without enough money for treatment, turned to Helpster Charity for support. Thanks to Helpster Charity, he was evaluated and investigated in UMD hospital and diagnosed with SEVERE MALARIA. He was admitted and had antimalarial drugs,intravenous fluids with other supportive treatment in the hospital for 3 days. Slowly, he recovered, symptoms subsided, and he regained his strength.He was discharged home with his parents, and he can enjoy his childhood and return to school. Mustapha is experiencing fever, loss of appetite, general body weakness, and vomiting, which has kept him out of school in the interim. he appears moderately dehydrated and very uncomfortable. Prompt treatment of acute malaria, possibly with moderatedehydration, is crucial to prevent serious complications. Treatment of severe Plasmodiasis have good prognosis and health status will significantly improve to enable him to return back to school for his studies.
