Four-year-old Naim Islam is a cheerful and well-mannered child who enjoys playing with his friends and hopes to attend school regularly. For the past two years, he has been suffering from swelling on both sides of his groin, which becomes more noticeable during coughing and crying, and over the last month the pain has increased significantly. After visiting City Clinic, he was diagnosed with bilateral congenital inguinal hernia, and doctors strongly advised immediate surgery. This condition is not only painful but also potentially life-threatening, as it can lead to incarceration or strangulation of the hernia, cutting off blood supply to vital tissues and causing severe complications such as intestinal blockage, infection, and even death if left untreated. Timely surgical intervention is therefore life-saving and essential to prevent irreversible damage. Naim’s father, a daily wage laborer earning only 6,000 BDT per month, supports a family of six while living in a small tin-made house, making it impossible for them to afford the cost of the operation. After learning about Helpster Charity through Sadika, the family sought support, as without urgent assistance Naim’s condition may worsen, putting his life at serious risk, while timely treatment can restore his health and allow him to return to a normal childhood.

The patient, Naim Islam was admitted to City Clinic on 12th April 2026. A successful Herniotomy operation was performed the same day. The child progressed well and were discharged on 15th April 2026 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.

Doctors have confirmed that Naim Islam requires herniotomy with repair, a surgical procedure that can fully correct his inguinal hernia and allow him to live a normal, healthy life. With timely surgery, the pain and swelling will be relieved, and he will be able to return to school, play freely with other children, and grow without physical limitations. The prognosis after surgery is very good, with a low risk of recurrence and long-term complications. However, if left untreated, the hernia may become incarcerated or strangulated, leading to severe pain, bowel damage, infection, and potentially life-threatening emergencies. Delaying treatment puts Naim's health and future at serious risk.
