Habib Azan, the youngest child of Mr. Azad and Mrs. Sajeda Begum, is a gentle and bright boy who shares a small overcrowded room in Geneva Bihari Camp with his parents and three siblings. His father earns a very limited income as a barber, which barely covers food, rent, and school expenses, leaving no savings for emergency medical treatment. When Habib’s long-standing ear infection worsened into severe pain, pus discharge, fever, and eventually meningitis, his parents were terrified, knowing the cost of urgent hospital care was beyond their reach. Without immediate and proper treatment, the infection could cause permanent hearing loss, brain complications, or even become life-threatening. Learning about Helpster Charity through the outreach program at Al Manar Hospital gave the family hope that their youngest child could receive the critical care needed to save his life and future.

After suffering from persistent ear pain, pus discharge, and hearing difficulties for six months, Habib Azan was admitted to Al Manar Hospital on 16 February for proper medical evaluation and treatment. Doctors carefully examined his condition and provided targeted care to control the chronic infection, relieve pain, and prevent long-term damage to his hearing. The patient had and operation on 17th February 2026 and also received parenteral antibiotic for the meningitis. During his hospital stay, Azan received medicines and support that eased the discomfort, reduced the infection, and allowed him to rest peacefully for the first time in months. By the time he was discharged on 18 February, his symptoms had significantly improved, and he was able to hear and sleep better. With continued follow-up care, Azan is expected to fully recover, regain confidence in school, and enjoy a healthier, pain-free childhood.

Doctors have recommended thorough aural toileting under general anesthesia along with conservative treatment to remove the infected discharge and control the spread of infection. With timely and proper treatment, Habib’s ear infection can be brought under control, his fever and pain can subside, and the risk of further complications from meningitis can be significantly reduced. Early management will also help protect his remaining hearing and improve his overall recovery. However, if left untreated, the infection could continue to spread, leading to permanent hearing loss, brain damage, or other life-threatening complications. Prompt treatment is essential to safeguard his life and future well-being.
