Lukman Ahmed is a gentle and calm six-month-old baby who lives with his parents and extended family in a small tin-made house with a muddy floor. His father, Emon Ahmed, earns only about 6,000 BDT per month as a farmer, which barely supports the entire household that includes Lukman’s mother Sultana Begum, his uncle Shumon Ahmed, aunt Shubeda Begum, and two young cousins, Bushra and Maisha. When Lukman suddenly became seriously ill with severe pneumonia, the family became very worried because they could not afford the hospital tests, medicines, and treatment needed to save him. Without timely medical care, his breathing problems and infection could have quickly worsened and become life-threatening for such a young child. The family, already struggling financially, felt helpless until they learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema, whose support brought hope during their most difficult moment.

Lukman Ahmed, a 6-month-old child, was admitted on 5 March 2026 with symptoms of cough for 10 days, fever for 5 days, and poor feeding, and was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. The patient received conservative medical treatment under the supervision of the consultant doctor and appropriate medications during the hospital stay. After continuous care and monitoring, the child’s condition improved and he was successfully discharged on 12 March 2026 with further medication and follow-up advice. The patient’s family expresses their sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the doctors and staff of Sheba Hospital for their timely support, compassionate care, and assistance throughout the treatment process. Their support played a vital role in the child’s recovery and brought great relief to the family.

The doctor has advised hospitalization under a pediatrician for close monitoring and treatment. The child will receive conservative management, oxygen therapy, and other supportive treatments to improve breathing, control infection, and stabilize feeding and vital signs. With timely treatment and proper monitoring, the child’s breathing difficulty and infection are expected to gradually improve. However, if the condition is left untreated, the respiratory infection could worsen, leading to severe breathing problems, low oxygen levels, dehydration, and other life-threatening complications. Early treatment and hospital care are therefore essential for the child’s recovery.
