Two-day-old Babu is a newborn baby who has just brought happiness to his family living in a small tin-made house. He lives with five other family members, and his father is a day laborer earning about 6000 BDT per month, which barely covers the family’s daily needs, making it impossible to afford medical expenses. Shortly after birth, Babu became seriously ill with frequent diarrhea, vomiting, and fever, and doctors at City Clinic diagnosed him with acute gastroenteritis and dehydration. Because he is so young, his condition can become very dangerous without proper treatment and medical care. After learning about Helpster through volunteer Sadika Rahman, the family is seeking assistance so that Babu can receive the treatment he needs and recover safely.

Babu Islam is a 2-days-old child, had been battling recurrent respiratory Acutr Gastroenteritis for the past few days. Despite multiple courses of antibiotics from local pharmacies, his health continued to decline, leaving him lethargic and in a toxic state. In desperate need of emergency hospitalization, he received critical care at City Clinic. Babu was admitted on 05/03/26, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 10/03/2026. Now, after receiving the care he needed, Babu is doing well and has returned home, bringing joy back to his family. With tears of gratitude in their eyes, his parents said, "Thank you to Helpster Donors and City Clinic; we are forever grateful for your support!"

The doctor has advised that with prompt treatment, including intravenous fluids, oral rehydration, and supportive care, Babu is expected to recover completely within a short period. Proper management will restore his fluid balance, reduce fever, and help him regain his strength, allowing him to continue his normal growth and development. Close monitoring in the hospital will also prevent further complications and ensure his safe recovery. However, if left untreated, ongoing dehydration may rapidly worsen, leading to weakness, reduced consciousness, and serious infection. In severe cases, untreated dehydration can become life-threatening for an infant of his age.
