Five-year-old Md. Emon is a bright and cheerful nursery student who loves playing cricket with his brothers and dreams of becoming a cricketer one day. He lives with his parents and three brothers in a crowded camp, where his father Arman Hossain, a rickshaw puller earning about 6,000 BDT per month, struggles to support the entire family and cannot afford medical expenses. Recently, Emon became seriously ill with fever, vomiting, and frequent loose stools, and doctors later diagnosed him with acute watery diarrhoea, a condition common in their camp due to poor sanitation and unsafe drinking water. Because he is weak and unable to drink properly, his condition could quickly worsen and lead to severe dehydration, which can be life-threatening for a young child if untreated. After learning about Helpster through a government hospital doctor, a previous beneficiary, and Helpster volunteer Firoz during a community outreach, the family is now seeking support so Emon can receive proper treatment and recover safely.

Md. Emon was admitted on 08.03.2026 with acute watery diarrhoea. At the time of admission, he was suffering from frequent loose stools, vomiting, fever, and signs of dehydration. The medical team immediately started appropriate treatment, including intravenous fluids to restore hydration, medications to control diarrhoea and vomiting, and close monitoring of his vital signs. During his hospital stay, he received proper medical management and attentive nursing care, which gradually improved his condition. His vomiting stopped, the frequency of loose stools decreased, his fever subsided, and he was able to take oral fluids and food. After several days of observation and treatment, Md. Emon recovered well and became stable. He was discharged safely on 11.03.2026 and is now in a secure condition, expected to continue regaining strength at home.

The doctor has recommended immediate hospital admission for Md. Emon so that he can receive proper hydration, feeding, and other supportive care. With timely treatment, his fluid levels can be restored, his weakness will improve, and he will have a strong chance of making a full recovery. Supportive therapy will help his body regain strength and prevent further complications. However, if he is left untreated, his dehydration may worsen rapidly, leading to severe illness and possible organ failure. Without urgent care, this condition could become life-threatening for such a young child.
