Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Abu Sayed, a peaceful one-month-old baby, lies gently in his mother Salma Begum’s arms, bringing hope to a family struggling with deep poverty. His father, Md Abdur Rahim, has no stable job and earns only around 6000 BDT per month through occasional labor, which must support the entire family, including his siblings Asraful and Arfana, making it impossible to afford urgent medical care. Despite his fragile condition, Abu Sayed responds softly to his family, filling their home with quiet strength and love. However, without timely treatment for his eye condition, he may lose his vision permanently, affecting his future and placing a lifelong burden on his already struggling family. After learning about Helpster Charity through volunteers Al Amin and Nasima Akter, the family is now seeking support to save their child’s eyesight and give him a chance at a better life.

Medical history

Abu Sayed, a 1-month-old baby boy, was admitted for urgent management of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) in both eyes, a condition that can lead to permanent vision loss if left untreated. After thorough evaluation, he received Anti-VEGF injection on 29.01.2026, administered by Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, the hospital’s ROP Specialist. The treatment process was carefully planned and executed, with close monitoring to ensure safety and effectiveness. During his stay, his response to the treatment was positive, showing encouraging signs of recovery. The abnormal growth of retinal blood vessels has now been successfully controlled. His retinal condition has improved significantly, and doctors are hopeful that he will develop clear vision in the future. He was discharged in stable condition with advice for regular follow-up, and heartfelt thanks go to Helpster Charity and Helpster Heroes for making this life-changing treatment possible.

Outcome

According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sheikh and Dr. Md Saiful Islam, Abu Sayed urgently requires Avastin injection in both eyes under specialist supervision. The doctors believe that if treatment is provided immediately, the abnormal blood vessel growth can be controlled and retinal development may continue normally. Early treatment can protect his vision and allow him to grow with normal visual ability. Without treatment, retinal damage may continue silently until permanent blindness occurs. At such a young age, blindness would deeply affect every part of his future—education, movement, self-care, and social development. The medical team strongly recommends urgent financial support so treatment can begin before the disease reaches an irreversible stage. Early help today can save Abu Sayed’s eyesight for life.
