Emmanuel is a 3-year-old boy, the fifth of five children, who lives with his parents in a small community. His father works as a local security guard while his mother is a housewife. The family struggles financially and Emmanuel is not yet enrolled in school. They live in a two-room apartment with a pit toilet, use borehole water for daily activities, and have no access to electricity. He presented with a five-day history of high-grade fever associated with chills, rigors, loss of appetite, occasional vomiting, and reduced activity. On examination, he appeared acutely ill, dehydrated, pale, and febrile with a temperature of 39.8°C. He was diagnosed with severe malaria. The family could not afford the medical bills and sought assistance from Helpster Charity to support his treatment.

The mother observed that he has not been active as expected. Examination showed acutely ill looking child, dehydrated, pale and febrile with temperature of 39.8 degrees Celsius. He was diagnosed with severe malaria. Patient was on admission and treatment commenced with injection antimalarials, antipyretics and other supportive care until patient was stable and discharged. He was as well given some drugs for continued medication at home. Patient is come for follow up after 1 week The family are filled with joy as they extend gratitude to Helpster Charity and the team for sponsoring their medication.
