Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Robiul Hasan, a gentle and curious 4-year-old child, lives with his parents and several siblings in a small makeshift shelter, where his father works irregularly as a day laborer and struggles to support the seven-member family. Despite their difficult living conditions, Robiul is an active and playful child, but his recent illness has made him uncomfortable and less active. He developed a swelling in the groin area that has gradually become painful and more frequent, leading to a diagnosis of reducible inguinal hernia. Due to their extreme financial hardship, his family is unable to afford the necessary treatment. They learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Ahammad Ali Azad and sought help, as without timely treatment, the hernia may become trapped and lead to severe pain, complications, and life-threatening risk.

Medical history

Robiul Hasan, a 04-year-old male child, was admitted on 26.04.2026 with complaints of scrotal swelling, associated with intermittent groin pain and swelling for one year at Orion Hospital through Helpster volunteer Abu Sayeed. On admission, a thorough clinical examination and necessary investigations were performed to confirm the diagnosis. The patient was diagnosed with a right-sided reducible incomplete direct hernia and subsequently underwent herniotomy (inguinal hernia repair) under General Anesthesia. Post-operative care, including pain management, wound care, and follow-up, was provided to ensure full recovery. He remained hospitalized for four days, and the operation was performed on 28.04.2026. The patient was discharged on 01.05.2026 in a stable condition with medications, dietary advice, and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

Outcome

With timely hospitalization and herniotomy under general anesthesia, Robiul Hasan is expected to recover well and return to a normal, active life without pain or discomfort. The surgery will correct the hernia and prevent future complications. With proper postoperative care and follow-up, his growth and daily activities will not be affected. However, if left untreated, the hernia may become trapped, causing severe pain and swelling. It can also lead to intestinal blockage or reduced blood supply, which can be life-threatening. Therefore, timely surgery is essential for his safety.
