Meheraj Sheikh is a 6-month-old baby boy from Mirpur-11, Dhaka, living with his parents, elder brother Safain Sheikh, and grandmother Salma Begum in a small rented house. His father, Mohammad Rubel, earns only about 10,000 BDT per month as a salesman, and after paying house rent and basic expenses, the family is unable to afford the high cost of his critical treatment. Despite his fragile condition, Meheraj is a calm and innocent child who depends entirely on his mother’s care and love. The family came to know about Helpster through local volunteers during follow-up treatment at the National Heart Foundation Hospital, hoping for support in this difficult time. Without urgent treatment, his condition may rapidly worsen, leading to severe oxygen shortage, life-threatening complications, and even death, putting this young child’s life at serious risk.

The patient, Meheraj Sheikh, aged 6 months, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd. on 29/03/2026 with Tetralogy of Fallot, hyper cyanotic spell, and severe pneumonia. He was admitted in serious condition and received hospital treatment including oxygen, antibiotics, nebulization, and close monitoring in PICU. the patient was admitted at PICU for 6 days After receiving supportive treatment, his condition became stable enough for discharge on 04/04/2026. He was discharged with medical advice for follow-up, proper nutrition, and further evaluation for cardiac surgery at a specialized hospital. His family is grateful for the support that can help continue his treatment and improve his chance of recovery.

With timely treatment in the PICU, including intravenous antibiotics and specialized cardiac support under a pediatric cardiologist, Meheraj has a chance to stabilize and recover from the current life-threatening condition. Once his condition improves, referral to a specialized cardiac hospital will allow for advanced care and possible corrective treatment, which can significantly improve his oxygen levels, growth, and overall quality of life. Proper treatment will help prevent repeated cyanotic episodes, reduce infections, and support normal development. However, if left untreated, his condition may rapidly deteriorate due to severe oxygen shortage and ongoing infection. This could lead to recurrent life-threatening episodes, organ damage, and a high risk of death at an early age.
