Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Fatima Umar is 20years old married with one child. She lives with her husband in a small village called keke near millennium city Kaduna. She dropped out of school when she was in JSS 3 when she lost her parents and no one to sponsor her through school. Her husband is a tailor and she is house wife. The family survives on a monthly income of 12,000 naira and hence are struggling and unable to make ends meet. She is pregnant, her EDD passed by 3days and scan report shows Breech presentation. Upon examination by the attending doctor at General hospital Kawo, she was advised to go take a scan to know the state of the child in her womb and if confirmed to be a complication they should come prepared for a CS procedure. But she does not have money to pay for CS in the government hospital and someone from the hospital told her about Helpster. She contacted Helpster volunteer and subsequently referred to Epsilon. She was evaluated and sent for Obstetrics scan and upon confirming that the child is breech, a Ceaserean Section (C/S) was recommended to save both the mother and the child. Diagnosis - Pos-term (Postdate) pregnancy complicated by breech presentation.
Medical history
On April 3rd, 2026, 20-year-old Fatima Umar walked into our hospital ward. She was two days overdue. A scan showed her baby was breech, and the doctor said she needed an emergency C-section right away. The words hit her hard. She couldn’t stop crying. She was terrified she or her baby wouldn’t make it. The surgery cost was the other nightmare. She had no job, and her husband earned very little as a local tailor. The hospital bill felt like a mountain they could never climb. She felt hopeless. Then Helpster Charity was contacted and she was rushed to the operating room for the emergency C-section. At 5:50 PM on April 3rd, her baby girl was born. She weighed 3.1 kg, healthy and crying loud. For five days, the nurses took good care of both mom and baby until they were strong again. The fear slowly faded. On April 8th, they left the hospital together. The whole family was smiling and full of thanks. What started as a dark, scary moment ended in joy. Helpster Charity helped this poor family when they needed it most.
Outcome
Fatima is diagnosed with Post-term pregnancy complicated by breech presentation, she is in urgent need of delivery due to the complications hence was admitted for urgent Caesarean section. There is Fetal distress which requires urgent intervention which is an emergency CS to save both mother and child. If quickly attended we are sure to save both of them. Prognosis depends on timely surgical intervention to deliver the baby through Caesarean section.
