Chedni Ashrafi is an 18-year-old, humble and caring girl living in an overcrowded shelter in Geneva Camp, Dhaka, where she supports her mother with household responsibilities. Her father, Aladdin, works as a daily laborer earning about 8,500 BDT per month, while her elder brother contributes around 5,000 BDT from a grocery shop, making it difficult for the family to manage even their basic needs, let alone medical expenses. They came to know about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp in their community. Recently, Chedni developed severe abdominal pain with vomiting, along with a history of irregular menstruation and persistent itching, and her condition quickly worsened, requiring urgent medical attention. Without timely treatment, her condition could become life-threatening, leading to serious complications such as internal infection, severe pain, and long-term reproductive health issues, putting her future and life at significant risk.

Chedni Ashrafi, aged 18 years, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd. on 07/04/2026 at 1:41 PM with the diagnosis of acute abdomen with PCOS and scabies. She was admitted with abdominal pain, vomiting, irregular menstruation, and severe itching, and her doctors advised hospitalization with investigations and conservative supportive treatment. During her stay, she underwent necessary tests including CBC, RBS, ultrasonography of the whole abdomen, serum creatinine, thyroid tests, and X-ray abdomen. After treatment and clinical improvement, she was discharged on 15/04/2026 with medicines, hygiene advice, and follow-up instructions. Her recovery now depends on regular medication, proper care, and continued follow-up.

With timely hospitalization, keeping the patient NPO (nothing by mouth), along with conservative treatment and close monitoring, there is a strong chance of recovery. This approach will help control abdominal pain, manage vomiting, and allow doctors to closely observe her condition to prevent any complications. Proper treatment will also support gradual improvement in her overall health and reduce the risk of worsening symptoms. However, if left untreated, her condition could become severe and life-threatening. The abdominal problem may progress to serious complications such as internal infection, rupture, or severe dehydration, while untreated PCOS and scabies may lead to long-term health issues and persistent discomfort. Early and appropriate medical care is therefore essential to protect her health and ensure recovery.
