Shahinur Akter is a soft-spoken and caring 9-year-old girl living with her parents and two young brothers in a small, overcrowded shelter in Geneva Bihari Camp, Dhaka. Her father, Shohel Ahmed, earns only around 7,000 BDT per month as a rickshaw driver, which is barely enough to support the entire family, leaving no ability to afford medical treatment. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp in their community when Shahinur’s condition became severe. Despite her illness, she remains patient and quiet, but her prolonged fever, abdominal pain, and weakness have made her increasingly fragile and dependent on her mother, Sonia Akter. If she does not receive timely treatment, her condition may worsen, potentially leading to severe infection or complications in the abdomen and urinary system, which could become life-threatening and place immense emotional and financial strain on her already vulnerable family.

Shahinur Akter, a 9-year-old child, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd. on 07 April 2026 at 01:54 PM with high fever, headache, abdominal pain, and vertigo. After medical examination and investigations, she was diagnosed with acute abdomen due to urinary tract infection (UTI) and received supportive, conservative, and antibiotic treatment during her hospital stay. She remained under treatment for about 4 days and showed improvement with hospital care. Shahinur was discharged on 11 April 2026 with medicines and advice for follow-up treatment at home. Her condition improved after treatment, but she still needs proper care and monitoring for full recovery.

With proper monitoring, conservative treatment and supportive care, Shahinur Akter has a strong chance of full recovery without long-term complications. The treatment will help control the infection, reduce fever and abdominal pain, and restore her strength and normal daily activities. Close observation will also allow doctors to identify the exact cause of her abdominal condition and respond promptly to any changes.
