Roshni Akter, a 20-year-old young woman, lives with her parents and siblings in a small overcrowded shelter in Geneva Bihari Camp, where her father’s irregular income as a day laborer is not enough to meet daily needs, making medical treatment unaffordable. She is a quiet and hopeful girl who enjoys reading and music, but her illness has made her weak and unable to live a normal life. She developed severe pain and swelling in her left breast along with fever and was diagnosed with a breast lump associated with tuberculosis, requiring proper treatment. Her parents, sister, and brother are deeply worried but feel helpless due to their financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp and sought help, as without timely treatment, the infection may worsen, spread in the body, and become life-threatening.

After receiving support from Helpster Charity, Roshni Akter was admitted to AL-MANAR Hospital on 07/04/2026 for treatment of her breast lump with tuberculosis. She underwent conservative management and supportive therapy under the supervision of Dr. Nusrat Jahan Eva. Over a 10-day hospital stay, she received medications, monitoring, and care to manage pain, fever, and infection. By her discharge on 17/04/2026, Roshni’s condition had improved, her symptoms were reduced, and she was advised to continue follow-up care and medication at home. Thanks to Helpster’s support, Roshni is now on the path to recovery and has a hopeful outlook for a healthier future

With timely hospitalization under the gynecology department and appropriate conservative and supportive therapy, Roshni Akter is expected to improve as the infection is controlled and the breast lump gradually reduces. Treatment will relieve pain, reduce fever, and restore her strength, allowing her to return to normal daily activities. With proper follow-up, the condition can be fully managed and complications prevented. However, if left untreated, the tuberculosis infection may spread to other parts of the body, leading to severe illness and further tissue damage. The lump may enlarge, causing more pain and possible abscess formation. These complications can become life-threatening, making timely medical care essential.
