Ayat Islam, a 9-year-old boy, lives with his parents and elder sister in a small overcrowded shelter in Geneva Bihari Camp, where his father earns only 8,500 BDT per month as a driver, making it difficult to meet daily needs and impossible to afford medical treatment. He is a bright and hopeful child who dreams of becoming a teacher, but his injury has left him in pain and unable to use his hand properly. After a road traffic accident, he developed swelling, numbness, and loss of movement in his left arm and was diagnosed with a displaced supracondylar fracture requiring urgent treatment. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp organized in Geneva Camp and sought help for his treatment. Without timely care, his condition may worsen, leading to permanent disability, loss of hand function, or serious complications.

The patient, Ayat Islam, aged 9, was admitted to AL-MANAR HOSPITAL LTD. on 9th April 2026 with the diagnosis of an undisplaced supracondylar fracture in his left elbow following a road traffic accident. He underwent conservative treatment with supportive therapy, including medication, and was closely monitored for 5 days. After showing steady improvement, Ayat was discharged on 14th April 2026 with medical advice for continued care and follow-up visits. The family expressed gratitude to Helpster Charity for the support provided during the treatment process, as they could not afford the treatment without assistance.

With timely hospitalization and conservative management under orthopedic care, Ayat Islam is expected to recover as the fracture heals properly. Treatment will reduce pain and swelling, restore movement of his elbow and fingers, and help him return to normal activities and school. With proper follow-up, he can regain full function of his arm. However, if left untreated, the bone may heal incorrectly, leading to deformity, stiffness, or permanent loss of movement. Nerve damage may worsen, affecting hand function, so timely treatment is essential.
