Shafia Kamal, a 3-year-old girl, lives with her parents, elder sister, and grandmother in a small overcrowded shelter in Market Camp, where her father earns only 8,000 BDT per month as a factory laborer, making it difficult to meet daily needs and impossible to afford medical care. She is a sweet and gentle child whose illness has made her weak and unable to eat or play normally. She developed severe abdominal pain, swelling, vomiting, and constipation and was diagnosed with subacute intestinal obstruction, requiring urgent treatment. Her parents are deeply worried but cannot bear the cost due to financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp and sought help, as without timely treatment, her condition may worsen into complete obstruction, severe infection, and life-threatening complications.

Shafia Kamal, a 3-year-old child, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd. on 12 April 2026 at 12:34 PM with subacute intestinal obstruction. She was treated conservatively in the hospital with no oral feeding, nasogastric tube decompression, IV fluids, electrolyte correction, antibiotics, and other supportive care. She remained under treatment for about 5 days and showed improvement during admission. She was discharged on 17 April 2026 with medicines and medical advice for follow-up care at home. The child and her family are grateful for the treatment support, and she still needs continued monitoring for safe recovery.  

With timely conservative management, including NPO, nasogastric decompression, IV fluids, electrolyte correction, and antibiotics, Shafia Kamal is expected to improve as the obstruction is relieved and her condition stabilizes. Treatment will reduce pain, control vomiting, and help restore normal bowel function. However, if left untreated, the obstruction may worsen and become complete, leading to severe pain, infection, and intestinal damage. This can result in life-threatening complications such as perforation or sepsis, so timely medical care is essential.
