Abu Sayid, a 14-year-old boy, lives with his parents and four siblings in a poor household where his father earns only 6,000 BDT per month as a day laborer, making it difficult to manage daily expenses and impossible to afford medical treatment. Despite these challenges, Abu Sayad is a responsible and hardworking student who supports his family and continues his studies with determination. Recently, he became seriously ill with fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain, leading to dehydration and hospital admission. His family is deeply worried but cannot bear the cost of treatment due to financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema and sought help, as without timely care, his condition may worsen into severe dehydration, complications, and life-threatening risk.

Abu Sayid was admitted to Seba Hospital on 12 April 2026 as a case of acute gastroenteritis with severe electrolyte imbalance and urinary tract infection (UTI). He received treatment under the supervision of a pediatrician, including regular supportive therapy and continuous monitoring by doctors and nurses. His condition gradually improved, and he was discharged on 19 April 2026 with medical advice for continued recovery at home. At the time of discharge, the patient’s family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Ema and the Seba Hospital team for their support and care.

With timely hydration, supportive and conservative therapy, and close monitoring, Abu Sayed is expected to recover as fluid and electrolyte balance is restored and the infection is controlled. Proper treatment will reduce vomiting and diarrhea, improve his strength, and allow him to return to normal daily activities. With continued care, he can achieve full recovery without long-term complications. However, if left untreated, severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalance may lead to shock, organ dysfunction, and life-threatening complications. The urinary tract infection may also worsen and spread to other organs. This can result in serious health risks and prolonged illness. Therefore, timely medical care is essential for his recovery and safety.
