Meem Akhter, a 20-year-old pregnant woman, lives with her husband (26), her in-laws (50 and 60), and brother-in-law (23) in a low-income household where her husband earns only 8,000 BDT per month as a day laborer, making it difficult to meet basic needs or afford medical care. She is a caring and hopeful woman who dreams of a safe delivery and a healthy child. At 38+ weeks of pregnancy, she developed leakage of fluid and was diagnosed with severe oligohydramnios with breech presentation, requiring an urgent caesarean section. However, due to financial hardship, her family is unable to afford the operation. She learned about Helpster Charity from a previous beneficiary and sought help, as without timely treatment, both her life and her unborn baby’s life could be at serious risk

After experiencing, passage of gush of water and leaky membrane for 2 days, she arrived at our hospital at 1.00PM in 07 th january 2026 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed amniotic fluid is very low with breech presentation , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful female baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 10th january 2026.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

The doctor's prognosis is that an immediate cesarean section is a crucial, life-saving intervention. The patient's history of premature rupture of membranes, severe oligohydramnios and breech presentation puts both the mother and baby at significant risk. The lack of amniotic fluid can lead to the umbilical cord becoming compressed, which can cut off the baby's oxygen supply and lead to fetal distress, irreversible brain damage, or stillbirth. Without the immediate surgical delivery, the risk of a tragic outcome for the baby is high. The C-section, while a major surgery, offers the best chance to bypass these life-threatening complications and ensure a safe and healthy start to the baby's life.
