Purno Barua, a 10-year-old girl, lives with her parents and three siblings in a small makeshift shelter where her father’s irregular income as a rickshaw puller is not enough to meet daily needs, making medical treatment unaffordable. She is a kind and caring child who dreams of helping others, but her sudden illness has left her weak, in pain, and unable to even sit or eat properly. She developed severe diarrhea, dehydration, fever, and abdominal pain, along with dengue, making her condition critical. Her parents and siblings are deeply worried but feel helpless due to their financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through a cleaner and sought help, as without timely treatment, her condition may worsen rapidly, leading to shock, organ failure, and life-threatening complications.

Purno, a 10-year-old male child, was admitted on 18.04.2026 with complaints of frequent watery diarrhea (more than 12 episodes within 6 hours), high-grade fever, weakness, lethargy, and severe abdominal cramps causing continuous crying and restlessness. During hospitalization, he was treated with intravenous fluids to correct severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, along with regular monitoring of vital signs and management of fever and abdominal pain under close medical supervision. He remained hospitalized for 4 days and showed gradual clinical improvement with supportive care. The patient was discharged on 21.04.2026 in a stable condition with medications, dietary advice, and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

With immediate hospitalization and proper treatment, including fluid and electrolyte correction, the child’s condition is expected to improve significantly, with stabilization of hydration status and reduction of symptoms. Continuous monitoring and supportive care will help manage fever, pain, and prevent further complications related to both diarrhea and dengue fever. Early intervention greatly reduces the risk of life-threatening outcomes and supports a full recovery. However, if left untreated, severe dehydration can lead to shock, organ failure, and even death. Additionally, untreated dengue infection may progress to more serious forms, increasing the risk of bleeding complications and further deterioration of the child’s condition
