Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Mohammad Adnan, a one-month-old premature baby, lives with his parents, twin sister, elder sister, and grandparents in a low-income rural family where his father earns only 8,000 BDT per month as a farmer, making it difficult to manage basic needs and impossible to afford medical treatment. Despite being fragile, Adnan is a calm and gentle baby who brings hope and joy to his family. He and his twin sister have been diagnosed with a serious eye condition (ROP) that requires urgent treatment to protect their vision. His parents are deeply worried but cannot bear the cost due to financial hardship. They learned about Helpster Charity through a counselor and volunteer and sought help, as without timely treatment, Adnan may suffer permanent vision loss or blindness, affecting his future life.
Medical history
Mohammad Adnan, a 1-month-old baby boy (Twin baby), was admitted for urgent management of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) in both eyes, a condition that can lead to permanent vision loss if left untreated. After thorough evaluation, she received Anti-VEGF injection on 23.04.2026, administered by Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, the hospital’s ROP Specialist. The treatment process was carefully planned and executed, with close monitoring to ensure safety and effectiveness. During his stay, his response to the treatment was positive, showing encouraging signs of recovery. The abnormal growth of retinal blood vessels has now been successfully controlled. His retinal condition has improved significantly, and doctors are hopeful that he will develop clear vision in the future. He was discharged in stable condition with advice for regular follow-up, and heartfelt thanks go to Helpster Charity and Helpster Heroes for making this life-changing treatment possible.
Outcome
According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sheikh and Dr. Md Saiful Islam, both Adnan and his twin sister urgently require Avastin injections in both eyes. The doctors emphasize that early treatment can successfully stop abnormal blood vessel growth and significantly improve the chances of preserving useful vision. If treated promptly, both children may develop functional eyesight and lead normal lives. However, if treatment is delayed, the retinal damage may become permanent, leading to irreversible blindness. This would severely impact their development, education, and independence, while placing long-term emotional and financial strain on the family. Immediate donor support is strongly recommended to begin treatment within the critical window.
