Abu Bakkar Siddique, a 10-year-old boy, lives with his parents and elder brother in very fragile conditions without a permanent home, where his father earns only about 8,000 BDT per month as a vegetable seller, making it difficult to meet daily needs and impossible to afford surgery. He is a polite and gentle child who tries to continue his daily life despite frequent illness. Over time, his repeated throat infections and breathing difficulties worsened, and he was diagnosed with adenotonsillitis, requiring surgical treatment. His parents and brother are deeply worried but cannot bear the cost due to financial hardship. They sought help through a Helpster volunteer, as without timely surgery, his condition may worsen, leading to severe infections, breathing problems, and life-threatening complications like sepsis.

Abu Bakkar Siddique, a 10-year-old child, had been suffering from recurrent respiratory tract infections for a prolonged period. Over the last month, he developed persistent sore throat along with repeated episodes of breathing difficulty. He was admitted to the hospital on 23-04-2026 for medical evaluation and treatment. During hospitalization, he received supportive treatment including medications, nebulization, antibiotics, pain management, and close clinical observation. After detailed examination and investigations, doctors diagnosed him with Adenotonsillitis. Considering the recurrent infections, airway obstruction, and risk of serious complications, doctors advised an Adenotonsillectomy under general anesthesia for definitive management. After improvement of his condition and completion of necessary treatment, he was discharged from the hospital on 24-04-2026 with further medical advice and follow-up instructions.

With timely adenotonsillectomy, Abu Bakkar Siddique is expected to recover well as the source of repeated infection is removed. The surgery will improve his breathing, reduce frequent throat infections, and help him eat, sleep, and grow normally. However, if left untreated, the condition may continue to cause repeated infections and breathing problems. This can lead to poor growth, sleep disturbance, and spread of infection. In severe cases, it may become life-threatening, so timely surgical treatment is essential.
