Shedrack is a teenager from a humble background, known for his calm and gentle demeanor. He has a passion for watching and playing football, with dreams of becoming a professional footballer in the future. Approximately three days ago, he fell ill, experiencing symptoms including fever, headache, loss of appetite, malaise, and a generalized itchy body rash.

Shedrack was seen at Makoko during the outreach and referred to Cottage Hospital close to his community. On presentation, he was evaluated and diagnosed with Malaria and severe dermatitis. He was placed on appropriate medications such as antimalarials, and drugs to treat the skin infections. Child was sent home with the parents, and they were happy and grateful to Helpster Charity.

Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences. Topical corticosteroid creams or ointments are often prescribed to reduce inflammation and relieve itching associated with dermatitis. These medications help to suppress the immune response and alleviate symptoms.
