Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Yusuf Isah is a 2-year-old boy from a very difficult family situation, where his mother is caring for him and his siblings after the parents separated. His family lives in poor conditions with no steady income, and they are struggling to meet basic needs. He became sick two weeks ago, first with watery stools that later turned brown, followed by fever and repeated vomiting, including yellowish vomit on an empty stomach. At the hospital, he was found to be weak, febrile, and moderately dehydrated, and he was diagnosed with severe malaria and dehydration. He was treated at the facility and is now under proper care.
Medical history
Yusuf is a 2yo male child who became ill 2 weeks ago with watery stools that looked like urine for 5 days and after which it turned brownish. Developed body temperature 5 days ago associated with vomiting everything ingested. He also vomits yellowish fluids on empty stomach. On examination, looks ill and weak, febrile++, unicteric, acyanosed and not pale with moderate dehydration. No organ development. He was diagnosed with severe malaria and dehydration. Treatment commenced with injection antibiotics, injection antimalarials and other supportive care until patient became stable. He was discharged with oral medications to continue home treatment. Family remain thankful for the support given.
Outcome
Severe malaria is a life-threatening medical emergency defined by vital organ dysfunction or high parasite levels. It is a medical emergency requiring immediate hospitalization and intravenous (IV) treatment The clinical features are consistent with severe malaria requiring urgent inpatient care for Isah. The patient is at risk of complications such as severe anemia, cerebral involvement, and organ dysfunction. Prognosis for Isah is good with early and adequate treatment; if treatment is delayed, it can lead to severe anemia, organ damage, shock, or death. Nevertheless, Isah had a timely intervention, he was admitted and managed appropriately.
