Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Dorcas is a humble, hardworking, and resilient 19-year-old woman who approaches life's challenges with courage and hope. Despite growing up in a financially disadvantaged family within a gold-mining community in Turkana, she remains determined to build a better future for herself and her child. She enjoys attending church, participating in religious activities, and singing traditional songs that strengthen her connection to her faith and culture. Dorcas dreams of raising a healthy child, achieving financial stability, improving her family's living conditions, and supporting others facing similar hardships. During her pregnancy, Dorcas developed serious complications that required urgent medical attention. As her condition deteriorated, she was referred to Lodwar County Referral Hospital for specialized obstetric care. Following a comprehensive assessment, the medical team determined that an emergency Caesarean section was the safest option to protect the lives of both mother and baby. She was promptly prepared for surgery and received the necessary medical care to ensure a safe delivery and reduce the risk of complications.

Medical history

Dorcas was initially assessed at a local health facility, where healthcare workers identified complications in her pregnancy and referred her to Lodwar County Referral Hospital for specialized care. After further examination, doctors performed a Caesarean section to safely deliver her baby. Through the support of Helpster Charity, her medical bills and hospital expenses were covered, enabling her to receive timely treatment without placing an additional financial burden on her family. The surgery was successful, and both mother and baby received postnatal care and monitoring. As a result, they recovered well and were discharged in stable condition

Prognosis

The prognosis after treatment is good, as the surgery was successful and both mother and child are recovering well. Doctors believe that timely medical intervention greatly reduced the risk of serious complications. If left untreated, the condition could have resulted in severe health problems, permanent injury, or even loss of life for either the mother, the baby, or both.
