Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Sylhet Gastroliver Hospital

House No -35, Block-A, Main Road, Shahjalal Uposhahar, Sylhet 3100

Background

Ayman Hussen Rafi is a cheerful and innocent 8-month-old baby who lives with his parents and grandparents in a five-member family, where his father is the only earning member, working as an auto driver with a monthly income of only BDT 5,500, making it impossible for the family to afford the cost of prolonged hospitalization and specialized treatment while meeting their daily needs. After being diagnosed with septicaemia at Seba Hospital (Helpster Charity ID: 6426), he was referred to Sylhet Gastro Liver Hospital because his condition required advanced care, where doctors again confirmed septicemia and also diagnosed scabies. Without timely treatment, the bloodstream infection could rapidly progress to septic shock, multiple organ failure, and even death. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema, and with the support of volunteers Tanjila Shahin Ema and Redwan, they were able to reach the referral hospital, giving Ayman the best chance to recover and grow up healthy with his loving family.

Medical history

Ayman Hussen was admitted to Sylhet Gastroliver Hospital on 16 June 2026 with septicemia, prolonged fever, diarrhea, poor feeding, and weakness. He received intravenous fluids, broad-spectrum antibiotics, fever control, oral rehydration therapy, nutritional support, and other supportive care under close medical supervision. With continuous treatment, his condition gradually improved, and he became stable enough to be discharged on 22 June 2026 with medications and follow-up advice. Ayman's family sincerely expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, its dedicated volunteers, and the doctors, nurses, and staff of Sylhet Gastroliver Hospital for their timely financial support, compassionate care, and unwavering commitment, which played a vital role in his recovery and gave their family renewed hope.

Outcome

According to the treating doctor, immediate hospitalization, intravenous fluids, broad-spectrum antibiotics, fever control, oral rehydration therapy, nutritional support, and treatment for the skin infection are essential to control Ayman's septicemia and help his body recover. With timely treatment, the infection can be brought under control, his fever and diarrhea will improve, and he can regain his strength, feed normally, and continue healthy growth and development. However, if left untreated, septicemia can spread rapidly through the bloodstream, leading to septic shock, multiple organ failure, brain injury, and even death, especially in an infant. Early medical treatment and close follow-up provide the best chance for a full recovery and help prevent life-threatening complications.
