Md Sajid I., 8

Mohammad Sajid Islam is a gentle and determined 8-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a religious teacher and enjoys playing football and indoor games with his friends. His father, Md. Shamim Islam (37), works as a house driver and earns only about 10,000 Taka per month, which must support Sajid, his mother Mahmauda Akter (34), and his elder brother Md. Shakil Islam (14), a madrasa student, making it impossible for the family to afford costly medical treatment. Since birth, Sajid has suffered from an abnormal urinary opening, and over time he developed difficulty passing urine, a weak urinary stream, and repeated infections with fever, causing pain and affecting his daily life. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer ABM Alamgir, who guided them to seek help when their financial situation left them with no other option. Without timely treatment, Sajid could suffer from worsening urinary blockage, recurrent infections, damage to his bladder and kidneys, severe pain, and long-term health complications that could affect both his education and future quality of life.

The recommended treatment is to first control the urinary tract infection with appropriate medicines and then perform Tubularized Incised Plate (TIP) urethroplasty, a corrective surgery to repair the abnormal urinary opening and relieve the narrowing that is blocking normal urine flow. The planned surgery will help restore more normal urinary function, and support his healthy growth and development. However, if left untreated, he may continue to suffer from repeated infections, worsening urinary obstruction, severe pain, bladder problems, and possible kidney damage due to persistent back pressure from poor urine drainage.
