Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Jabez is a four-year-old boy and the youngest of two siblings. He lives with his widowed mother, who became the sole caregiver after his father passed away before his birth. Following the father's death, the family was forced to leave their home by relatives and now lives in a rented single-room house in poor condition. His mother runs a small business to support Jabez, his sibling, and the children of her late co-wife, but the income is insufficient to meet the family's daily needs, leaving them dependent on well-wishers. Despite these hardships, Jabez is a cheerful, active, and playful child. Jabez was brought to the health facility with a history of persistent fever, excessive sweating, poor appetite, high body temperature, and progressive weakness. His mother had initially managed him at home with painkillers because she could not afford medical care, but his condition continued to worsen. When Jabez's older brother learned through a school awareness program about free treatment available under Helpster Charity Organization at Awasi Catholic Mission Health Centre, the family immediately sought care. Following clinical assessment and investigations, Jabez was found to require admission to the children's ward, where he was enrolled for treatment and close medical monitoring.
Medical history
During the hospital stay, the patient was closely monitored, and there was steady improvement in clinical condition, with reduction in fever and restoration of strength. After some days, the patient was clinically stable, with normalizing vital signs and improved general well-being. The patient was discharged on oral antibiotics, with advice on adherence to medication and follow-up care. Overall, the recovery was satisfactory with no complications
Prognosis
Given the severity of septicaemia, immediate hospital admission was necessary.Jabez was started on intravenous broad-spectrum antibiotics, fluid therapy, and close monitoring of vital signs and organ function. Early intervention was critical to prevent complications such as septic shock, kidney injury, or respiratory distress. Jabez’s prognosis is guarded but favorable with prompt and adequate treatment. Septicaemia can be life-threatening if not treated early; however, children and adolescents often respond well when aggressive therapy is initiated in time.
