Md. Sanarul I., 13

Md. Sanarul Islam is a calm, hardworking, and determined 13-year-old boy who dreams of completing his education and helping his family escape poverty. His father, Md. Abdur Rashid, earns only about BDT 12,000 per month as a farmer and is the sole provider for a family of five, making it impossible to afford the high cost of specialized treatment, ICU care, medicines, and follow-up services after Sanarul became critically ill. What began as severe abdominal pain turned into a life-threatening emergency when his appendix ruptured, causing a widespread abdominal infection and later sepsis and septic shock, requiring emergency surgery and intensive care. Although he underwent an appendectomy at a government hospital, his condition deteriorated further, and he required advanced specialized treatment that was not available there. The family learned about Helpster Charity through the hospital and volunteer Md. Abu Hanif. Without timely specialized care, Sanarul could have suffered multiple organ failure, permanent disability, or even death.

According to the treating doctors, Md. Sanarul Islam has a good chance of making a full recovery with timely surgery, appropriate ICU care, antibiotics, and regular follow-up. The emergency appendectomy and intensive treatment have controlled the severe infection and stabilized his condition. With continued medical supervision, proper nutrition, and adherence to prescribed medications, he is expected to gradually return to his normal daily activities.However, if the ruptured appendix and resulting infection had been left untreated, the infection could have spread further throughout the body, leading to worsening septic shock, multi-organ failure, and potentially death. Regular follow-up is essential to monitor his recovery and prevent further complications.
