Most. Humayra Akter is a cheerful and innocent 11-month-old baby girl who lives with her parents and grandmother in a family of four, bringing hope to her family despite their difficult circumstances. Her father is the family's only earning member, working as an auto driver with a monthly income of approximately BDT 6,000, which is barely enough to provide food and other basic necessities, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of hospitalization, medicines, oxygen support, and ongoing treatment. After learning about Helpster Charity through the hospital, the family sought assistance in the hope of saving Humayra's life. Despite exhausting their limited resources, they cannot continue her treatment without financial support. Without timely treatment, her acute respiratory distress may rapidly progress to severe oxygen deprivation, respiratory failure, bloodstream infection (sepsis), multi-organ failure, and other life-threatening complications that could result in permanent disability or even death.

The doctor has recommended immediate hospital admission for Most. Humayra Akter so that she can receive appropriate antibiotic therapy, nutritional support, oxygen therapy if needed, and other supportive care. With timely treatment, her breathing is expected to improve, her strength can be restored, and she has a good chance of making a full recovery. Early medical management will also help prevent further complications and support her overall recovery. However, if left untreated, acute respiratory distress can lead to serious complications such as secondary (hospital-acquired) infections, multiorgan dysfunction, cardiac strain, pulmonary fibrosis, and, in severe cases requiring mechanical ventilation, barotrauma and volutrauma. Without urgent medical care, this condition could become life-threatening for such a young child.
