Most. Marufa Akter is a polite and resilient 21-year-old mother who lives with her husband, their 5-year-old son Maruf Hasan, and her elderly parents-in-law in a family of five, doing her best to care for everyone despite their difficult circumstances. Her husband is the family's only earning member, working as a van driver with a monthly income of approximately BDT 6,000, which is barely enough to provide food and other basic necessities, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of hospitalization, surgery, medicines, and delivery-related care. After learning about Helpster Charity through the hospital, the family sought assistance in the hope of ensuring a safe delivery for Marufa and her unborn baby. Despite exhausting their limited resources, they cannot continue her treatment without financial support. Without timely medical intervention, her breech pregnancy may lead to obstructed labour, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth injury, severe maternal bleeding, stillbirth, and other life-threatening complications that could endanger both the mother and her baby.

The recommended treatment for her is LUCS under SAB, which is the safest option to deliver the baby promptly and prevent further complications. With timely surgery, the baby is expected to recover well and lead a healthy life. However, if the delivery is delayed or left untreated, the baby may develop fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury, or head entrapment during delivery. The mother may also face life-threatening infections or other serious complications.
