Md. Abdul Halim is a 9-year-old schoolboy from a family of five whose father is the sole earning member and works as a day laborer, earning only approximately USD 65 per month. With such limited income, the family struggles to afford basic necessities, making it difficult to pay for qualified medical consultation, investigations, and hospital treatment. Halim has lived with bronchial asthma since the age of five and recently developed prolonged fever, persistent cough, and worsening breathlessness, eventually being diagnosed with severe pneumonia with asthma. Md Abdul Halim was admitted to Jamuna Clinic on July 29, 2026, with complaints of high fever, persistent cough, breathlessness, and asthma-related complications. Following a comprehensive medical evaluation, he was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and asthma. Halim received six days of inpatient treatment, including appropriate medical management, medication, and supportive care. During his hospitalization, his condition gradually improved, and he responded well to the treatment provided. After achieving satisfactory clinical recovery, he was discharged in stable condition on August 4, 2026. Throughout his hospitalization, Halim was accompanied and cared for by his mother, who remained by his side until his discharge. According to the doctor, hospitalization with antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and supportive treatment is expected to control the pneumonia, improve Halim’s breathing, reduce fever, and help him regain his strength. With timely treatment and close monitoring, he is expected to recover and gradually return to his normal daily activities and schooling. If left untreated, severe pneumonia, especially with underlying asthma, may worsen respiratory distress, cause dangerously low oxygen levels, and potentially lead to respiratory failure or other life-threatening complications.
