Blessing is a two-year-old boy who is always cheerful and loves playing with other children at home. He adores eating potatoes, regardless of how they are prepared. Recently, his mother noticed a change in the color of his urine, accompanied by a fever. Additionally, over the past three days, he has experienced headaches and has often cries while urinating.

The patient initially took Lonart as premedication before seeking medical attention. Upon arrival at the facility, they presented with severe headaches, high fever, painful urination, and changes in urine color. They also experienced five episodes of vomiting and three episodes of loose stool. During the physical examination, the patient was found to be weak, febrile, and dehydrated. Tests were conducted, revealing the presence of blood sugar (BS), urinary tract infection (UTI), and gastroenteritis (GE). They were treated with antibiotics and later discharged. A follow-up home visit a few days after discharge confirmed that the patient was recovering well.

The infection should be treated immediately, since it may spread onto kidneys, if left untreated. It will also keep causing pain and discomfort if the treatment is not received. Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.
