About us
Helpster Charity is a non-profit public charity organization that leverages cutting-edge technology to facilitate healthcare access for vulnerable populations across Africa and Asia. We're a tech charity startup that uses an innovative app and a website to raise funds to support the medical treatment of children, pregnant women and young adults living in underserved regions. We aim to ease the process of raising funds for vital healthcare so that the indigent sections of our society can access essential medical services, thereby reducing preventable deaths.
We're poised to bridge the healthcare gap in underprivileged communities across Africa and Asia, connecting donors to those in critical need of medical attention but can't afford it. Over 1000 children and pregnant women have been saved through our interventions, enabled by the magnanimity of our donors and the continued support of our partners and volunteers. Our operations thrive on partnerships and relationships with key institutions and individuals, and we're grateful for the support we've received so far.
We're leveraging tech-driven solutions and strategic community engagements to mitigate the healthcare inequalities that underprivileged Asians and Africans are facing. Our Projects and Initiatives
1. Healthcare Funding
This is our core programme- direct healthcare funding. We get cases through our extensive network of dedicated volunteers and very supportive local partners. Then, we evaluate the cases using a set admission criteria, such as poverty scoring, case urgency, treatment plan, cost, etc. This evaluation is to ensure fraud is eliminated, and only those deserving of medical assistance receive it.
If a case meets the admission conditions, it's uploaded on our website and app for funding by donors- corporate and individual. Every case is thoroughly verified before admission, and donations go directly to the hospitals for treatment, with 5-7 percent for transaction charges and currency exchange loss
We've built a dependable system that guarantees transparency and impact, as donors are able to track real-time the impact of their donations. Our initiatives are driven by cutting-edge technology, volunteering and strategic local collaborations. Technology plays an indispensable role in achieving our mission, and we've perfected the system of facilitating healthcare for those that truly need it.

2. Regular Medical Outreaches
We conduct free regular medical outreaches in remote areas across five countries- Nigeria, Kenya, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Cambodia- to complement our core programme of healthcare funding. We've organised 15 outreaches so far, impacting over 5000 people. At these outreaches, we provide medical screening, diagnosis, treatment and health sensitisation.
From these outreaches, we also get cases for admission into our main programme of healthcare funding. If we diagnose a case and it's complex, we refer it to one of our partner hospitals for more intensive treatment. At our outreach in Yobe State, Nigeria, for instance, we referred seven cases to a partner hospital in the state. Our outreach constitutes a source of medical cases for admission.
